SRS20306 Certificate II in Sport (Coaching)

This Certificate II in Sport (Coaching) Qualification was originally released by Sport and Recreation Australia (SRTA) under the authority of the (ANTA) Australian National Training Authority and is now recognised by the Service Industry Skills Council (SISC).

This Sport Industry training package qualification holds the relevant units of competence for the various sporting disciplines and now allows participants to attain formal recognition from the government and the community for their sporting discipline studies. This qualification is a benchmark and now sets the standard for all sporting disciplines. The qualification opens the door to formal career path opportunities and of course articulation into further studies under this framework.

Delivery modes:     

This qualification can be achieved via the International College of Kenshusei famous flexible delivery program on the job (sporting activity) under the direction of qualified ICK trainers and assessors, Family Self Defence Academy.

Assessment

This course is a combination of physical and theoretical sporting studies. Assessment is based on successful completion of all workbook activities, portfolio development (personal CV, previous certification, references) attendance at International College of Kenshusei seminars, successful completion of written assessment paper for each cluster of units. Final assessment for this qualification is a collaborative effort between the International College of Kenshusei and Family Self Defence Academy will highlight the students on the job and practical performance.

RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning)

RPL recognises the skills you have gained from other courses, life experience, work experience and training provided at work. The RPL process measures your skills against the outcomes of a course or module.

RPL includes course/module exemptions.

RPL does not include Credit Transfer.

It is important to apply for RPL if you think you have already got some experience that might be relevant to your course.

Summary of Certificate II Modules

Core:    Communication, administration, dealing with clients. operating computer programs, frontline management and OHS.

Coaching Stream: Operate in accordance with accepted coaching practices, styles and ethical responsibilities. Assist in preparing and conducting sport and recreation sessions for clients. Apply rule and regulations.

Emergency response: Implement injury prevention and apply basic first aid. (The cost of completing the first aid statement of attainment is an extra cost ($180with ICK) over and above the Certificate II qualification. The standard community first aid qualifications, through the International College of Kenshusei, Red Cross and St Johns are accepted for this qualification.

Refund policy  Once course materials have been issued to the student, no refund will be given. Family Self Defence Academy will refund all payments made by a student if the course is cancelled.
